Happy 1st Birthday Gabriel

Today we celebrated Gabriel's first birthday at Bayou Gulch Park here in Parker. Of course the theme for our little guy was Elmo. We had decorations galore!
We shared Gabriel's first birthday with grandpa and several of our friends, including Arnie and Krissa, Lisa, Gabi's babysitter and some of Gabriel's friends from daycare. Acadia-Rose came with her parents as did Maurice, Mia, and Casey and Annabelle. Other friends included Elisa and Jorge, Gabi's future godparents, Lisa, Kelly, and Lindsay.

The kiddos enjoyed running around in the field and playing on the playground, swinging, sliding, and climbing on the playground equipment.

Gabi's favorite part of his party was definitely the Elmo cake. The look on his face when he saw his cake was priceless as was watching him eat it.

Gabi loved opening his gifts as did several of his friends who shared in the events of giftwrap and tearing into all the presents.
After all the playing around and eating and gift opening kiddos were getting tired left and right so home for naps we all went. Gabi caught a quick snooze in the car but once we arrived home the birthday boy was recharged and ready to play with all his toys.

A message to our son:Happy 1st Birthday little guy!!! Mommy and daddy can't believe that an entire year has gone by already. You've made us so happy, proud and complete knowing that we are the parents to such a beautiful, smart, happy, and loving boy. We are the luckiest parents on the planet!!! What a great day, beautiful weather, fun with family and friends, no better way to share YOUR day with those that love you. It was just yesterday that I was holding my newborn son and not aware of how wonderful parenthood would truly be. It's been an amazing year and we can't wait for the rest of our lives with you and the many birthdays to come. Love you lots and lots

More steps and more teeth

Quick update- Gabriel is taking about 4-5 steps at a time and is slowly making his way towards walking. You've only got a little more time before mommy needs you to start walking. Baby Sofia is so close to arriving and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I won't be having to carry two babies at once. Gabriel also got his third tooth on the bottom and continues to be such a trooper with teething!

Mommy's Lil' Helper

There is nothing that Gabriel loves more than to play with ANYTHING he can get his hands on while I'm in the kitchen. I turnmy back for seconds and this is what I find every time we are in the kitchen. Emptying the dishwasher is completely out of the question as Gabriel loves to pull out plates and cups and all that's fragile! Guess it's time to start baby proofing all cabinets and drawers!

Steps

Gabriel is becoming more and more adventurous by the day and is challenging himself to start walking. He's been taking a step here and there but this afternoon he decided he was up for walking across the carpet to his toys. Watch as he makes it to his play house and how excited he gets once he accomplishes his mission without falling. It's a matter of days/weeks before this little guy starts full on walking. Maybe for his first birthday he'll surprise us!

Baby Shower

Today we celebrated our soon-to-be little girl by having an open house and inviting our family and friends (both guys and girls) to come share in our celebration. My family cooked some great food once again, decorations were put up, and the guests arrived. Our guest included, Grandpa Igal, Aunt Adi, Aunt Sharon, Lisa, Krissa and Arnie, Sandi, Duke and their kids, Jackie and Mia, Lindsay and Josh, Elisa, Heather and Kristen. We had a small intimate gathering which meant so much as we truly got to feel the love and happiness in the room. We got great gifts, had yummy cake, got the alcohol flowing, but most of all laughter and joy filled the afternoon and continued into the night. All the kiddos enjoyed playing together and of course little Gabriel was the center of attention...for now! Little girl got so many fun things, I think mama was overjoyed by all the pink and purple gifts!!!! As I sit here and right this all I can think about is how loved this little girl is and she is not even here yet. You're gonna be spoiled little girl, you have so many great people waiting to be a part of your life!

Denver Zoo and much much more!

Today we took a trip to the zoo with Auntie Krissa. I decided to take the day off work and spend it with Gabriel as we are nearing the arrival of his baby sister, and little does he know this will change his world tremendously. We had a great time seeing all the animals, from the monkeys to the tigers, the bears and the giraffes. The zoo wouldn't be complete without some yummy ice cream and cotton candy!

After the zoo we continued on for some fun and games at the Cherry Creek Mall. Gabriel really enjoyed climbing the Looney Tunes figures and playing with all the little kids (and big kids).

We finished the day with a yummy dinner at Kona Grill and off to bed we go!
