Infant Care Class

We decided that not only were we going to take the Childbirth Preparation class but that it would be a good idea to take an Infant Care class for when our little man comes home. Class was great, it gave us many tools, lots of advice and insight, and techniques for taking care of our baby. Daddy learned how to give a baby a sponge bath and the most important thing, how to make a baby burrito. We're not sure if we will actually use the burrito technique (swaddling) because it seems a little cruel, but apparently it's supposed to really soothe a baby while they sleep. We'll just have to see. We've seen some babies that really like being swaddled and others that absolutely hated it. Not sure what our little guy will desire.... Upon leaving the class we were really glad that we were able to fit it into our schedule. Many people surrounding us have given us advice about how to do and what to do with our little guy, but taking a class has allowed us to take what we've heard and apply it or not. It seems that no matter what you are told and learn, it's really up to the baby and what he/she wants, likes, etc. And with the personality of our little guy, this should be a very interesting journey.
