36 week appointment

Today we had our 36 week doctor appointment and last ultrasound before we get to meet our little man. Our ultrasound went great and baby is head down counting down the days until he gets to join us in this world, even though he is VERY comfortable just hanging in mommy's tummy where it's nice and warm and very safe. As much as I've enjoyed having him in there, I think I have hit the point where I'm sooooooo ready to have him out. I can't sleep, I can't breath, I can't stand on my feet too long, it's just a wee bit uncomfortable. Anyhow, everything is looking great on the ultrasound. The sonographer is predicting that baby is weighing at about 7 1/2 lbs. and expects that he will be close to 8 1/2 or 9 lbs. by birth. I'm really hoping and praying that his head stays a manageable size so that delivery isn't a nightmare!!!! We met with Dr. Moisen, who is wonderful and will hopefully be the one delivering our little guy. We have set a date of June 8th at which time I will be admitted into the hospital in the evening and will work to dilate throughout the night with an expected delivery the next day, June 9th. A bit frightening but at the same time it's so exciting that we have a date and know exactly when our little guy will be here. Gives me some time to mentally prepare and get everything ready at home for his arrival.
