Childbirth Preparation Class #3

Tonight we had our third class in the 4 class series for Childbirth Preparation. Daddy had to travel to Aspen this week so unfortunately he missed out on class this evening. Tonight's class covered Stage 2 and Stage 3 of labor, medications, special circumstances such as inductions and C-Sections, and a hospital tour. Although daddy wasn't there, mommy managed to gather lots of information and really enjoyed the hospital tour, especially the part where she got to see all the cute babies in the nursery.

We have chosen to deliver our little guy at Rose Hospital, one of the leading hospitals in the Denver area and very well known. The hospital has a level 3 NICU, not that we anticipate we'll have to use it, but that is the highest level of care, ICU, that a baby can be in. Close to 3500 babies are born at this hospital a year, thats a whole lot of babies!!! Even though the hospital isn't state of the art postpartum rooms like some of the closer hospitals to where we live, we have a lot of confidence with Rose Hospital and have decided to forgo the fancy stuff for excellent health care. We've had a few friends deliver there in the past couple of years and from everything we've heard their experiences were great.

We're definitely getting closer to the big day and can't wait! Now if I could just get around to pre-registering for baby and me.
