Baby Shower

My baby shower was absolutely incredible, an event that I cannot describe. My mom and sister hosted my baby shower and were very excited to do so since I never had a bridal shower or a wedding. I knew this was going to be a very big deal!!!

As I pulled up to my mom's house (luckily 20 minutes before the shower was to start) I felt overwhelmed with happiness and joy that tears just came flying out of my eyes. I was so excited for this day and pulling up to a beautifully decorated house just set those tears off. I regained my composure just before all the guests started to arrive. My mom and sister had cooked up some great food and hours before the shower got some help from a couple of my closest friends. Mom and Adi must have worked on all this stuff for a long long time.

My guests included friends from school, work, neighbors, family friends, and of course my family. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and appeared to have a good time celebrating our soon-to-be baby. I There was so much happiness and celebration at my shower that I was very lucky to be sharing this event with such great friends and family.

Even my in-laws joined us on Skype all the way from Colombia (South America)

We played a few different games which included, everyone having to memorize the baby items on a tray and then guess them all, match up guests baby pictures with their names, and design my baby using magazines. All the games were so much fun and provided us all with a good laugh. I think I was the only one that was able to match guests with their baby pictures. Guess I know my friends pretty well!!!

John and our friend Scott were invited for the cake and gifts part of the baby shower. When they arrived my sister brought out the most beautiful cake in the world (of course she was soooo proud of it). My sister knowing how much I love rubber ducks had decided to get me a bath tub looking cake with two tiers and two ducks in a bath of bubbles on the top. It was so beautiful, I didn't want to eat it. We did though because you can't get such a nice looking cake and keep your guests from EATING it!!!

Presents were also fun, the baby got some great stuff and LOTS of it. We got lots of things: bath items, stroller/carseat, baby carrier, highchair, swing, packnplay, clothing, exersaucer, play mat, walker, blankets, pacifiers, burp cloths, toys, books, memory albums, etc. What were we possibly missing, NOTHING!!!! We were so grateful for the gifts we got for our son, he is truly spoiled and isn't even here yet! It took two cars to get everything home!!!

Putting all the stuff away just made everything so real. Up until this point we really didn't have much baby stuff in the house. We are still waiting on our baby furniture to come in also. Walking into the nursery and seeing all this stuff makes me remember that in a few short weeks we'll have a little person that will be using all this wonderful stuff!!!!!
