Sleepless nights

Sleep, oh that sounds so nice. Yet no matter how nice it sounds and how much my body needs it and is probably asking for it, I am unable to close my eyes during Gabriel's long periods of sleep. I am so captivated by my son that I want to stare at this beautiful baby every minute I can. Of course at 12 am, 2 am, 4 am,6 am I would probably tell you otherwise but throughout the day I want nothing but to hold my little man and look into those innocent eyes.

John has taken a few days off work and has been very helpful at nights, assisting me with diaper changes and burping. Now that he is having to return to work he has taken up our family room couch as his new bed. This way he is near if I need him yet he is able to sleep through all the little coos and noises Gabriel's making while he sleeps.
The dogs too, have had to get used to being woken up multiple times at night to a screaming baby. The first couple nights, Max was waking up every time Gabriel made a noise and would go to his bed to check on him. After a few nights of no sleep, Max has given up on sleeping in our bedroom and has also moved out into the family room. Titan, needs his bed in the bedroom and has decided to be a trooper and stick it out. So now we find ourselves, Gabriel, Titan, and me sleeping in our bedroom while dad and Max get some much needed sleep out in the family room.
(do they look sleep deprived or what? What dog falls asleep standing up, only ours!)

I'm hoping that soon enough the night times get a little easier and that either Gabriel sleeps a bit longer or that I just get used to waking up as often as I am.
