First Doctor Visit

Gabriel went for his first doctor visit this morning. He is weighing at 6lbs 14 oz. After meeting with the doctor, the lactation consultant came in to discuss the weight gain they are expecting over the next two weeks. Typically, babies tend to lose some weight after birth and within two weeks are expected to return to their original birth weight. No one was worried with this little guy as he seems to be an expert at breast feeding, in the hospital he was even offered to teach breast feeding classes!! Mommy on the other hand is still adjusting to the whole breast feeding thing and the constant feedings every 2 hours. My milk finally came in this morning so there is no worry in that department. Both grandmothers came to the doctor appointment so that they had the opportunity to have their questions answered and to hear all the information we were getting. We are scheduled to return to the doctor in one week.
